But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. Know also this, that, in the last days, shall come dangerous times. You must understand this, that in the last days distressing times will come. And this know thou, that in the last days there shall come perilous times,
For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, Men shall be lovers of themselves, covetous, haughty, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, wicked, For people will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, for men shall be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, evil-speakers, to parents disobedient, unthankful, unkind,
unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, Without affection, without peace, slanderers, incontinent, unmerciful, without kindness, inhuman, implacable, slanderers, profligates, brutes, haters of good, without natural affection, implacable, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, not lovers of those who are good,
treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, Traitors, stubborn, puffed up, and lovers of pleasures more than of God: treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, traitors, heady, lofty, lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God,
holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these. Having an appearance indeed of godliness, but denying the power thereof. Now these avoid. holding to the outward form of godliness but denying its power. Avoid them! having a form of piety, and its power having denied; and from these be turning away,
For among them are those who enter into households and captivate weak women weighed down with sins, led on by various impulses, For of these sort are they who creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, who are led away with divers desires: For among them are those who make their way into households and captivate silly women, overwhelmed by their sins and swayed by all kinds of desires, for of these there are those coming into the houses and leading captive the silly women, laden with sins, led away with desires manifold,
always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Ever learning, and never attaining to the knowledge of the truth. who are always being instructed and can never arrive at a knowledge of the truth. always learning, and never to a knowledge of truth able to come,
Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men of depraved mind, rejected in regard to the faith. Now as Jannes and Mambres resisted Moses, so these also resist the truth, men corrupted in mind, reprobate concerning the faith. As Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these people, of corrupt mind and counterfeit faith, also oppose the truth. and, even as Jannes and Jambres stood against Moses, so also these do stand against the truth, men corrupted in mind, disapproved concerning the faith;
But they will not make further progress; for their folly will be obvious to all, just as Jannes' and Jambres' folly was also. But they shall proceed no farther; for their folly shall be manifest to all men, as theirs also was. But they will not make much progress, because, as in the case of those two men, their folly will become plain to everyone. but they shall not advance any further, for their folly shall be manifest to all, as theirs also did become.
Now you followed my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, love, perseverance, But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, patience, Now you have observed my teaching, my conduct, my aim in life, my faith, my patience, my love, my steadfastness, And thou -- thou hast followed after my teaching, manner of life, purpose, faith, long-suffering, love, endurance,
persecutions, and sufferings, such as happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium and at Lystra; what persecutions I endured, and out of them all the Lord rescued me! Persecutions, afflictions: such as came upon me at Antioch, at Iconium, and at Lystra: what persecutions I endured, and out of them all the Lord delivered me. my persecutions and suffering the things that happened to me in Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra. What persecutions I endured! Yet the Lord rescued me from all of them. the persecutions, the afflictions, that befel me in Antioch, in Iconium, in Lystra; what persecutions I endured, and out of all the Lord did deliver me,
Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. And all that will live godly in Christ Jesus, shall suffer persecution. Indeed, all who want to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. and all also who will to live piously in Christ Jesus shall be persecuted,
But evil men and impostors will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. But evil men and seducers shall grow worse and worse: erring, and driving into error. But wicked people and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving others and being deceived. and evil men and impostors shall advance to the worse, leading astray and being led astray.
You, however, continue in the things you have learned and become convinced of, knowing from whom you have learned them, But continue thou in those things which thou hast learned, and which have been committed to thee: knowing of whom thou hast learned them; But as for you, continue in what you have learned and firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it, And thou -- be remaining in the things which thou didst learn and wast entrusted with, having known from whom thou didst learn,
and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. And because from thy infancy thou hast known the holy scriptures, which can instruct thee to salvation, by the faith which is in Christ Jesus. and how from childhood you have known the sacred writings that are able to instruct you for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. and because from a babe the Holy Writings thou hast known, which are able to make thee wise -- to salvation, through faith that [is] in Christ Jesus;
All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; All scripture, inspired of God, is profitable to teach, to reprove, to correct, to instruct in justice, All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, every Writing [is] God-breathed, and profitable for teaching, for conviction, for setting aright, for instruction that [is] in righteousness,
so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. That the man of God may be perfect, furnished to every good work. so that everyone who belongs to God may be proficient, equipped for every good work. that the man of God may be fitted -- for every good work having been completed.
