Mission in Salamis

Acts 13:4-5
When they arried and Salamis, they proclaimed the word of God... Acts 13:5

City: "A town on the east coast of the central plain of Cyprus, near modern Famagusta." (NIV Study Bible:1670)
"An important commercial city on the E shore of the island of Cyprus...Even though Paphos was the capital [of Cuprus] in the NT era, Salamis was still arguably the most important city...a large Jewish population, with several synagogues, dating perhaps to pre-Roman times." (Freedman:Volume 5:904)

Summary: When Paul and Barnabas arrived in Salamis they immediately began preaching in the local synagogues.
