Journey to Assos

Acts 20:13-14

We went on ahead to the ship and sailed for Assos. Acts 20:13

City: "Port city...located in NW Anatolia in the region known as Troad...Assos was founded by Aeolian immigrants from N Greece in the early 1st millennium B.C. By 600 B.C. Assos had become the most important city of the Troad with a population of about 12-15,000...On top ot the 700-foot-high acropolis stood the impressive temple of Athena..." (Freedman:Volume 1:503)

Summary: Paul arranged transportation for his companions aboard the ship, while he traveled on foot to Assos.
